Jeff Francoeur is back. Phew. I was worried.
Says Francoeur:
“Even though it’s only been three days, I feel like a new guy,” Francoeur told the Journal-Constitution by phone during a layover in Chicago. “I was hoping to get there before the game. But now I’m just excited to be there and be with the guys. The only thing is, I have no clothes.”
LOLZ!
However, let’s not be too harsh. He went 1-4 last night, which is not bad considering his one hit was a home run and the Braves’ only managed two hits total. That’s right, two. Against Derek “I Peaked Four Years Ago” Lowe. This is just two days after being one-hit by Hiroki Kurodoa.
But wait – this tidbit from the sidebar of the ESPN article is sure to cheer you up:
“The Braves have lost eight of their last 11 games overall and are a MLB worst 5-22 in one-run games. They have lost an MLB-record 24 straight one-run road games. “
Awesome! Hooray!
It should make me feel better that Andruw Jones’ 1-3 night raised his average to .173 (.173!), but it doesn’t. I still like ‘Druw, and I hope he finds whatever he lost because he is a spectacular player to watch when he’s playing well. But for now he sucks dead dogs, and I am beyond glad he is sucking them for another team. That being said, no former All-Star deserves a line this bad: .173/.270/.533 (avg, obs, ops). Ugh.
