More on Maddux

It turns out he can run as well as pitch and field. Who knew.

Mad Dog Forever!

Old Man Maddux has had even worse luck with run support than Jo-Jo. He has not won a game in nine weeks, a span of 11 starts, despite a relatively okay ERA of 4.14 over the same period. In eight of those eleven, he only allowed two or fewer earned runs – the Padres are averaging an anemic 3.35 runs a game during his support, good for fifth-worse in the Majors. Ugh.

Maybe the trend will continue tonight, but I’ll be alright if it doesn’t; four years later, I still don’t like to see him lose, regardless of his bizarre tendency to pee on the legs of rookies in the shower. Still can’t quite wrap my head around that one, but whatever.
